take it anywhere you like for a quote and as long as they're insurance approved it should be fine. You can't be forced to go somewhere you dont want to go

yeah you can take it to any repairer you like, some insurance companysdont like it though so may refuse a company car, or refuse to redo the work if its not up to your standards when it comes back out. If its through a third partys insurers it should be fine though

went to nationwide in ayr, 5 days it will take, seen a guy looking at car who worked there and spoke to him, ex 172 owner and looking to buy a 197

  is dirty.
Yeah we use Nationwide as our approved repairer. I work in Third party intervention so if our policy holder caused an accident and was at fault we would always try to get the third party to deal with the claim through ourselves. Also with our company if you use an approved repairer like Nationwide (Network Services) any work comes with a 3 year warranty whereas if something went wrong at a garage of your choice you would have to take it up with the garage. Also regardless of which garage you use you should always be entitled to a replacement vehicle under the betterment policy where you should be in the same position during and after the accident that you were in before the accident. So obviously by having a replacement vehicle etc.

cheers ricky, when i worked at rsa we called it the cat team! claims action team!!! i have only ever dealt with personal injury but now its away from motor pi and employers liability etc.

do you think i could claim for general incon/misc expenses? had to take a days holiday today to get car in garage so was thinking of asking for cash equivalent

i only eal in tp public liability claims, so PL, EL etc anything that involves a TP vehicle really, we dont have an approve repairer in our dept its entirely up to the third party to choose where they want the car repaire we just settle the invoice cost dependant.

tbh you would be lucky to be paid for that day because its not a financial loss as they look at it.
