Illustrator can open Freehand files (FH7 - 11) but the formatting of them may not translate 100% depending on any effects/strokes etc which have been used.

Converting from Freehand to illustrator is a nightmare, freehand creates blends totally differently and you end up with a gazilion stroked paths, text formatting can get screwed as well, if we get freehand files, we outline them with freehand and export either a illustrator file or an EPS and bang that into Artpro depending on what its going to end up being.
