Quick question

Do 182 cup alloys (the nice thick anthracite ones) bolt straight on to a Mk2 Ph2?

Physically yes, but they are the wrong offset and spacers will be needed to correct it.

So spacers in effect are similar shape to a large 'washer' and I just shove them on the axle before the wheel?

Yep, I had 5mm spacers on the rears only and it cured my rubbing issues

I'll get a pic...

Mk2 ph2 with 16" anthracite alloys fitted.
