quick radio surround trim help needed

im getting the door grab handles sprayed up to re-fresh them and im needing to get the centre surround which goes round the radio and heater controls off so i get a good all round paint match.

Could anyone tell me how to take it out ??? do i have to take the top half of the dash out ???

Apparently you cant take it out, I asked before cos I want mine to be silver to finish off my interior but cant be done.

you must be able to take it out surley, cos its a separate part !! ...ill bob into my reno dealer and have a word with them to see

Well let me know then because about 5 seperate people have told me that its practically impossible because of how its fitted.

i went in yesterday and talked to a guy from the parts department cos all the mechanics had gone home and he said it can deffinetly be reroved. Ive to back in on monday to be shown how to get it out
