Hey guys ive been thinking about buying a quick shift for my 172 as the gear change isnt very good as it should be feels a bit loose . Ive been looking at this link.

Basically that shows you how to remove the stick without removing the oem gearknob . Say i was to cut the oem gear knob of surley it would just pop through the gear stick housing . If you see what i mean .

Tell me what yOu think . I hear theres a good kit available from a guy on here yano isit?

We(Jay) managed without the instructions,so he did well.

But he did say that once you look at it,it's straight forward.

The instructions are good anyway.

Obviously Tony and Jay are more experienced mechanics, but what I would say as an amateur is that I managed fairly easily with just normal garage tools reading through the instructions and with the car on axle-stands. (I re-wrote the instructions for Yanoo so they read a bit better in English now.) As Tony suggests give Yanoo a PM, he is really helpful and the kit is a nice bit of... kit. I also went for the Stiff-Shift (will become obvious once you’ve contacted Yanoo) – well worth doing and at the same time.
