Quoted nearly 2K for the following

  04 Clio 182 Sport
Front and rear disks n pads
Middle box for exhaust + rear exhaust rubbers
cambelt doing
2 front tyres

So question is, can I get the disks and pads cheaper (any weblinks appreciated)

Can I get the exhaust rubbers cheap anywhere

I can get the tyres myself and when is the cambelt due for changing, its only done 33K miles

(2004 FF Clio 182 sport)

Thx

I know, thanks for the info, thought that a cambelt at 33K was a bit too bloody early!

(These were dealer prices btw)

  04 Clio 182 Sport
Aye, but it hasn't been hammered, and Im going on what they call average of 10K miles per year, - 50Kish...................

Anyway, they reckon the middle box is ratteling, strangely I hear nothing like that, so wont bother with that, had a read of the forum and note i can get disks and pads at much cheaper prices- I'll fit em myself, anybody any ideas on the rear exhaust rubbers which are perished.......... all the others are fine.

at 5 years it NEEDS the belts doing, regardless of mileage and how hard it's been driven. On sports I often recommend its done earlier, as they're never driven gently, and get a ot more grief than something more mundane

I'd say £1k would be easy to get it down to

Off the top of my head

Cambelt+ Aux is £450
2 tyres £250ish for pe2s
Rubbers £30
Brakes £200 for good ones fitted yourself.
Exhaust buy a stainless one

You not want it serviced at the same time?

  04 Clio 182 Sport
Just had it serviced (some 10K miles early!) but will certainly consider getting the belt done if it needs it, dont think there is anything wrong with the exhaust to be honest, tyres yes, are getting there, i'm not even sure it needs the disks, there seems to be plenty left in them, just need to get it checked by a local mechanic and not a dealer! (to be sure like)...

It hardly gets any use in summer, as I use my motorcycle, so noneof its majorly urgent as yet!

none of its majorly urgent as yet!

But at 5 years old, the rubber belts will go brittleand can snap. Then it willbe majorly urgent that you get your engine re-built!!

Not having a dig mate, just trying to prevent the inevitable.

Wtf thats a bit over the top...
Im doing a 182 on thursday discs and pads all round for £160.
A middle box will be like £50-£60, rubbers and next to nothing
Cambelt change would be like £160-£180

Come See Me :p
