Yes, I have been called this in the past, but thats not the sole reason for this question.
When boosting an engine (thats not originally a turbo engine from the factory) I have seen that: retarding the ignition timing will keep the engine safe.
What does this mean? Why must the ignition be retarded - to keep it safe from what?
Is this the same when not running boost - but yet increasing horsepower from say... throttle bodies?
