Racing Blue 182 Bonnet Repair - WHO??

Well, AA came out to repair my bonnet catch and in the process put a dent in the bonnet.

I contacted them, and about 4 months later they are now asking for quotes to get the dent repaired, well estimates to have it repaired.

The dent is on the front of the bonnet, cant get access to the rear of the bonnet to knock it out, so think its gonna need more than dent devils.

As the AA have asked me to get quotes to get it repaired, who should i take it too.? Renault repair shop, its racing blue with stripes, therefore not a easy repair..

New bonnet and paint & stripes?
Strip, repair, paint & stripes?
Dent removal?

What you think, its right on the curved bit, no access to the rear..

Well, the claim if for the bonnet alignment being out, as the guy took the catch off, then put it back on, and repeated to press down on the bonnet to get it to close, then re-adjust the catch, then press again..

and hey presto it closed..only later i realised they dent in the bonnet..

Shame you are miles away, the guy that I use for dents could pull that using up to date PDR methods.

See if any of the dents type people near you use hot glue paintless dent removal methods, means they can sort things from the outside if they can get behind.

My 172 had a large dent just like yours, local dent guy got it out in no time at all.

Why oh why do people press on it, i drop mine from a few inches.

Tbh, i think the local garage will push for a new bonnet, painted and stripes added.

AA have only asked for one quote...and thats it..

Happened to me, My girlfriend sat on the bonnet (dont ask)
and i have a small crease too

Luckly my dads a panel beater and took it out. He would give it a go for a small fee. in essex area

Are you in Lincoln or Chester ?

My mates used these before a couple of times and the repair was spot on , completely removed the dents .

Not sure if Chester is too far from their patch you'd have to call em if your gonna go down the dent removal path .

hopefully a dent repair company should sort that as would be a right ass to get new bonnett etc and colour match could be slightly out etc

The shocking thing is it says to drop it in the user manual, yet the wise old dickheads at SUNWIN RENAULT NOTTINGHAM still press down on the bloody thing. I had to stop him from doing it on mine.

Took the car to grimsby car clinic, these deal with accident damaged cars.

The estimator come out and first of all could not notice the dent in the bonnet, then i took him out to show him the dent.

He said they could drill a hole in the rear of the bonnet and get it that way but where it is means it wont fully come out. Therefore they are going to paint it.

As the car is racing blue, its easy to get a colour match as its flat paint.. then to add the stripes.

Only problem being is that it has the racing stripes, therefore these need to come from renault, unsure how much these cost but i think you prob could only buy a kit and they are £200 new.

How much you think then..

Collect car (70mile round trip)
Take bonnet off
Prep & Paint in Racing Blue
Refit
Fit stripes
Align bonnet
Deliver car (70mile round trip)

Supply car for me to use.?

that could be pulled for £40 quid tops which is what i would do.

Nope, its on the curved part, dent doctor advised it would not be fully right..

I would get some second opinions from some other dent companies. Try and find one that is using hot glue methods to get it from the outside.
