Racing Blue 182's getting hard to find a good one...

Hi guys,

Following on from this thread I put up a few days ago:

http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?637753-Looking-for-a-Liquid-Yellow-or-Racing-Blue-182

Been looking high and low for a nice RB 182, and its getting so hard to find a nice one...

Most are either really high milers or have been crashed, or the belts have been done by amateur mechanics.

Getting really frustrating to find a nice one.

The market seems to be saturated with BG's, AB's and TS ones....

When I bought my last RB, back in 2009 I was really spoilt for choice!

I was looking aswell and I found the ones that were really good were massively higher in price aswell as being miles away..id probably still be looking if the silver 182 iv got now hadn't have come in to work as a part exchange..

Everytome I find a "good" one, I do abit of digging and the true story emerges...

So many shitters out there, wanting big money too!!!

Re: Racing Blue 182's geeting hard to find a good one...

Tell me about it, I've pretty much given up on the RB search. Going to have to make do with a AB oh well! :(

Re: Racing Blue 182's geeting hard to find a good one...

Arghhhhh

I want an RB again, as much as I love the trophy I'd rather my old high mileage aux belt eating FF RB anyday :dapprove:

Racing blue 182's have been getting harder to find over the last 12-18 months

They have probably taken over from the LY in terms of popularity-- it also seems the cups outweigh the FF for sale- I cant be ar$ed to look at the amount sold but it always seems 1:4

They do pop up from time to time- I sold a mint one last year with recaros- I havent seen a decent one since...

Steve, as per your PM, will you let me know if you come accross any?

Im not even bothered if its a "cup" now, I'll take anything if its a "straight" car...

Thomas used to have a mint RB with recaros.
Whoever got that one did well.

Re: Racing Blue 182's geeting hard to find a good one...

I noticed this recently, not many around and a few people asking for them!

It makes me love mine a lot more, and appreciate it more.

I'll be sure to keep it mint like it is atm, I'm sure it'll pay off come resale time.

I probably made the hunt slightly harder :o.

Re: Racing Blue 182's geeting hard to find a good one...

Don't get a cup mate, I really miss the climate, xenons, and auto lights on the trophy, on a cup you don't even have the recaros or suspension to make up for it.

I nearly got a RB cup when I was selling my Megane, was a nice one but just couldn't be doing with the poverty spec.

I'll do you a deal with mine. Pretty much same spec as your old 182 ;)

LOL Everything has a price but i'm not putting it up for sale as I love it too much.

I will be in the market for a v6 in october though, but i'm not sure where i'm going to store a twingo, a 182 and a v6 so it's likely it will go to someone by the end of the year. It makes me cry looking at what it's worth though :(

Milage is 100,450 and still going strong. I'm sure it's getting quicker :S

The lady I bought mine of paid just short of £7k one year before I bought it off her for £4500 she got mugged of by a dealers mind but sod loosing that much in a year.

Ph1 172 and cash your way? :rasp:

Something like that would do you.

They are very difficult, i got mine by sheer luck tbh! Bloke on renaultsport forum wanted it to go to another enthusiast so sold it to me 300 cheaper than advertised on PH lol! 1 owner, 62k camblet service all done etc, great car! I found all the ones for sale are either cups, really chavved up or sh1tters! Great shame really :( def hanging onto mine till the last bolt falls off.

I will have a very nice RB 182 up for sale in a bit. (When i'm bored of it)
