radio code on a phase 1 172

hey there

does any1 no how to type in the radio code on a 172 phase 1 wen its got the 4 `0`s flashing i cant get any numbers to appear!
i`ve tried pressin up on the unit, pressin the numbers and on the steerin controls but just cant any numbers up

you need to use the wheel on the steering control. slide it to the number you want then press the bottom button to move onto the next, when your done hold the bottom button down until it bleeps.
