Rain sensor - adjustable interval speed

Hello,

I want to get rid of my rain sensor, it's a pain in the ass. It goes very fast sometimes when there's little rain.
And some days it works good, and some not.

So i want to know if there's a possibility to 'remove' the sensor, and put a adjustable interval in it.
With the turning wheel you now adjust the sensitivity of the sensor, but i want to adjust the speed of an interval with the turning wheel.
Is that possible?

You need to put some gel on the rain sensor, that'll sort out its sensitivity.
Have a search. Few posts on it.

If you unplug it, it will just mean that you wont get variable intermittent wipe (just the other two settings) and the service light will come on.

Try removing the sensor and replacing the gel between the sensor and the windscreen

Some people use ibuprofen gel or something. Have a search. There's definitely a guide on it. Might need to be a full member to see that one though.

Actually you can change this, if you can hold of a Clip tool theres an option in there to switch off the sensor and switch on the variable intermittent function. A previous owner of my car had changed the screen for one without the sensor so I had no intermittent function. I recently borrowed Clip tool from mate to have a play with and was able to do exactly what you are talking about.

Unfortunately my other problem of changing speedo input from gearbox sensor to abs does not appear to be do-able, even though many on here say it is. So unlike all of those posts which appear to be a case of heresay, the wiper thing is simple and do-able!

Apologies for the semi rant but it bugs the hell out of me when people post answers to questions when they actually have never done the process and seen it work.

That's good news..
but i don't think i can get a clip tool!
Maybe when my car is going for a remap, ill ask the man that also chipped my car (Henk from FastChip) if he can change that option for me
