Rain Water?

I'd given my car the SRP and EGP treatment last week.

I washed it on Sat, and it didn't look that great TBH - it was clean, but not shiny.

...it rained on Sat night, and dried-off Sunday morning. My car looked/felt absolutely gorgeous! I was staring at a mirror... so smoothe, so clean.

I guess the impurities in tap water that dulls the finish on my car, although I'm not in a hard water area?

Shampoo and how much of it you use effects the finish lots aswell.

I washed my car & wifes Sat while it was raining, bloody fantastic.

Bucket of suds & off i went.

Leathered off when stopped raining result!!!!!!!

I tend to mix it quite strong (squirt it into the bucket).

I guess that could be my problem?

To strong is why, some classic car guys use only water to wash, but the shampoo is a must IMO to stop the dirt scratching.

some waxes need a fine mist of water to set the water and give it that deep gloss shine

less is more in this instance you would of felt the residue from the slicone which you couldnt rinse off becauser it was to concentrated
