Raised section in 172 footwell.

Just spotted a raised section in passenger footwell oof my phase 1 172 is this normal. Cheers. Feels spongy but there's no rust underneath.

Might be the carpet underlay, I think mine has a ridge that runs down either footwell. The carpet and underlay have been out before when the sunroof leaked many moons ago and I haven't had the chance to take it all out and see how well it was put back.

Is the carpet easy to remove i could see any torx bolts to remove plastics

Trim is easy to remove but i believe the seats need to come out. As @Cub. suggested an image would be useful when you next get the opportunity to.

look underneath the car too.

It could be where some garage has put it on their lift and not checked where the lifting pads have gone and its buckled the floor a bit.
