RAM Speed Question

Car  Revo Stage 1 Leon FR
Trying to setup my new Corsair Dominator RAM... 2GB stick (1066mhz)

System is an AMD2+ CPU so the 1066mhz is an option!

Just running memtest now, and it is showing up as 266mhz (ddr533) DDR-2 (Dual)

Does this mean DDR2 = 266 x 2 = 533

Dual Channel = 533 x 2 = 1066mhz?!

That should be correct - the memory clock running at 266Mhz. Does the Dominator ram itself say PC2-8500 on the label?

It sounds like your motherboard is happy taking the 1066 stuff, but I know on mine, the original BIOS didn't support it, then a later one did, then a later one still dropped it back to DDR2-800, maximum.

Gonna say.... Try and download the newest BIOS for your Mo'board. My Crosshair Mo'board wouldn't support above 800mhz, until they released a BIOS update a number of years ago.

Yeah it does.

When i run CPU-z it's showing the max bandwidth as "pc2 6400" (400mhz) though, so i'm guessing i need to change the values in the BIOS somehow... anyone got a clue what they need to be set to, to run at top speed ?!

BIOS does support 1066 btw, got the newest update

Another update !

Changed my RAM timings to 5-5-5-15, and set voltage to 2.1

There's nowhere in the BIOS i can set my Freq to 1066.. the highest it goes is 533... any ideas ?!
