picked up a random magazine from my 'what to read on the toilet' pile. everyone's got one...
anyway, Top Gear from early 2003. they reviewed the FF 172 against the 206 GTi and the mini cooper works.
they talk b****cks they really do. it was the specky t**t reviewing them, can't remember his name.
anyway... when i read these things, i tend to skip the jargon and look at the pictures, spec, performance figures, price and insurance group. And anyone doing this for these 3 cars would pick the clio on every single criteria.
it looks s**t hot compared to the other 2. kinda like the quiet ninja at the back. you don't know what he's going to do... but you know it'll be good and steal the show.
they gave the cooper s and the 206 the performance vote, styling vote, and handling vote, and congratulating them for achieving this.
it's the most contradicting read i've ever had! they go on to say how the clio is by far the best car here...fastest, cheapest, most fun of the 3, with all the kit remaining. then they say they'd never pick the keys to the clio over the others due to driving position.?! so what do they pick...? the car costing nearly £5000 more than the others... the mini. on looks alone i'd never pick it, let alone cost!
