not my usual sort of thinking....

but is there any sort of clear tubing that could replace the coolant hoses on a 172 (or any car for that matter)

obv it would need the same heat resistant properties etc

im just thinking it would be pretty cool to have clear hoses everywhere filled with the green renault type D coolant, sort of like a water cooled pc-esque setup

I know on Discovery before they had a clear engine case on an MX bike, plexan or something. Could see the clutch working.

Im sure it could be done

Pace charge coolers use clear hosing to run the coolant from charge cooler to pre-rad. Looks pretty cool seeing the green coolant flushing through

I’ve wondered this too on occasion. I saw the Lexan clutch cover on that bike too. Was made by CNC’ing out a billet of Lexan. It’s what they make bullet proof windows out of for some applications. Often wondered if a Lexan rocker cover could be made. Watch the oil flying around the rotating cams. Anyway why don’t you go to a glass blower and get them to bend you some glass pipes. Obviously they will need to be thick enough and rubber mounted and ended to allow the engine to move.

Would look good at first, you'd have to change the coolant often though and clean them out or you'll get rust traces all over the show and they'll just look dirty and s**t, lol.
