It could be the baffles inside the baffle box failed as oposed to the actual cat itself? That or a clasp has came loose? Have you had a feel about?

Jack it up when its cold and see if you can see anything, then have a feel when its warm (obviously the metal will expand once heated) that should eliminae any foul play?

it might be the heat shield? tap it with your fingers see if it rattles? if its the baffles a whack with a hammer might help ;)

ill have a look sometime this week for you mate. Who fit the exhaust?

I can see 2 things there that dont look right. There is no manifold to cat springs, it looks like someone has just tried bolting it to the manifold with random nuts and bolts.

And also whoever has fit your exhaust has not used the clamp provided by ktec to clamp the sleeve olive joint onto the center section and have welded/soldered it in place which may not be sealed or tight enough.

or it could be that heat shield.

r8 matt hows it going...yeah that would be great the welding was done by this kid i know it didnt fit right to the cat as its not the original one its a universal one cheapo cat....so little welding has to be done to stop the blowing but the noise was there before it was welded could be something to do with the connection of the cat to the mani like you said

baffles are inside the exhaust silencers, might sound like the cat though! in the silencer if its loose denting the exterior can often fix it as it holds the loose baffle plate in place, i dont know if there is something similar in the cat though maybe someone else?

yeah i think its the cat my mate has spotted that there is springs missing from where the cat connects to the mani that may be causing it but i might take the heatshield off
