re-map 172

thinking of having a re-map on my 172.Is it worth it?any suggestions as to who should carry out the work?

On a stock engine ie no cams exhaust etc thee not huge point but it will make it abit smoother to drive and help the mid range but its not cheap.

Personally I'd only go to reliable places but your looking at £500 or so for this Chipwizards are popular on here for £350~400 I think.

As above, I'm not an expert but I understand it has minimal impact on standard engines, but is better used on a few modifications to ensure it utilises them as well as possible.

no no no, pmurray - rs tuning. he is god at doing remaps. he done mine a couple of months back along with my uncles 182 and it made a good difference to mid range torque. he charges £275. he is in leeds, i drove from northampton, a worthwhile journey imo

I have noticeable results with exhaust, ik and remap. Not sure of bhp yet, but will find out soon.

ive only got the hillpower ik, but he also overfuelled it a little in advance to me getting my manifold work done. a little overfuel cant be a bad thing. ive no rr results before the remap which im a little annoyed that i didnt have done, but im going to be putting it on the rollers soon, then after the manifold work etc

as it stands i just have a cat back prospeed exhuast, its seems to have gained more torque which i thought i would have lost due to back pressure. going to get Panel filter and getting the ported inlet fitted and then paul is going to map the car.
how muh power/torque extra will i gain? 5-8bhp and 10-12 torque?
