Well worth it iv been running the Groupe_n map from rstuner for a few months now

Do some searches there are plenty of threads on it. But to summarise.
You put the RStuner prgram on a laptop and connect the Hardware part of your RStuner to your laptop and OBDII port under the ashtray.
You then get the correct map for your car off of the rstuner website and you can upload this to your ecu. Depending what version of the sport you have there is probably a group_n map availible for the ecu.
If you want a custome map to suit what mods you have on the car this is also availible.

Just had a look on the RS Tuner web site. Does seem easy enough to install. my only problem i cannot seem to find the right file for my car. maybe i am being thick but i dont want to blow my engine up :clown: i have a clio 172 2004. could any one help me out on this and recommend the right file. cheers

ok got my V/N but still not sure on the file. In my V/N there is CB1N. And on the ECU calibrations section there is: 04 October 2007 Clio II F4R 2.0 [CB1N/CB15] would this be the file to use?

Group_N remaps are all very very similar. I dont use the group_N on mine I use the ron98 map which felt better on my car. Remember with RStuner you have the option to go back to the fatory map and also pay for a custom map if you get more mods in the future. Best mod I have done on my car by a long way.

Oredered mine thursday last week, hopefully be here tomorrow :approve: .. still dont know if to go group n or 98ron though.. will the group n be over kill for an itg pannel filter & powerflow exhaust?

just got in touch with K-Tec and they think its a bad idea. (Maybe they would as they want a sale) might be worth the extra money from K-Tec for a professional job. + I can tell them my mods there and then without having some bloke making me a custom. For me i think K-Tec would be the one for me. too much of a risk doing it myself and harming my clio. Thanks for all your help.

Thing is though mate for £140 you can also do performance checks on the car, find out whats wrong if some thing doesn't feel right & you'll have £150+left over compared to the k-tec map, but i under stand what you mean, things could go wrong then £300 could seem very cheap compared to a new engine

Mines re-mapped by Paul Murray at RS Tuning [Leeds] Don't get confused with the names. RS Tuning is a specialist tuning company and not linked to the RS Tuner product.
My custom map was LOADS better than standard ECU. Much more torque.

When I emailed fastchip henk said to try both the group_n and the ron98 and see what one you prefere. You can do performance runs with both maps also to see what one is better.
To me spending twice as much money on a group_n remap with a tuning company when you can do it yourself with a group_n map which is probably so similar it would be hard to tell a difference is stupid. I like the idea of being able to diagnose the car myself and also being able to put it back to the stock map when I wish to sell it.
Its really not easy to mess it up providing you double check everything your doing.

Think so, yes. Paul has tweeked files if you have say, Induction kit, inlet work, sportscat/ de-cat etc etc.

This resets the ECU for the mapping. Then you dont have to average anything out for such a long time.

+1 the difference was there straight away after remapping mine with my rstuner only drove say 10 miles or so to warm it up first. Also the service Henk gives is A* a lot of companies should take note, emails answered within minutes and always good in depth answers. Can't fault fastchip one little bit :star:.

I dont see the point in going for the ktec one? They are all going to be base maps of sorts anyway. Without YOUR car going to ktec for a live map you will gain no advantage WHATSOEVER with spedning the extra 150 pounds with ktec. You will have a disadvantage though, because you wont have the diagnostics software or performance analyser to see any results and you wont be able to revert back to and fro from map to map.....Bascially your conning yourself. The risk of damaging your car is very minimal as long as u know how to read and ask questions,.

I know its a extra £150 for some one else to do it. Yes i know how to read and ask questions but it could so easy go wrong. With K-Tec they know what there doing i don't with this budget RS Tuner. I know it would be good to see the Performance but at the same time both of these kits will give the same? for me i think id rarther leave it for some one else to do it. I don't fee confident enough to attempt this myself. Any ONe want to pop over? lol

There are loads of people on here who have done the Rs-Tuner Map Including myself. It's so simple to use and the support is brilliant. Henk's instruction manual guides you through the whole process and makes it so clear to understand. If you sign up on www.fastchip.nl and go to the downloads section, you can look at the manual for yourself and see how easy it is to do!
