was thinking of getting these for the winter as i'm in need of some new rubber soon but never experienced re moulds before. Whats everyones opinions on these, would you use them for the winter or would you just buy something like p1's ect?

Buy some 15's and proper winter tyres.

Take a look on camskill.
decent winters won't cost much more. Just alter your sizing a little.
think I found 195 50 15 to be a good price.

"Real" winters in 15" are probably almost the same price as those.

No reason why not IMO. Remoulds are commonly used on Buses, coaches, lorrys everyday.

yeah my first choice were hankook i'cept evo's, i was just curious on whats everyones opinions on going down the re-moulds for the winter

I had remoulds on a trailer. Heard some noises whilst driving.
pulled over and it was the tread blocks falling off. Had to get it home and 50 miles up the road it exploded.

Whatever you buy check the wet grip rating anything less than an A is not as good as it could be.

I just worked out the sidewall height. 65% of 19.5cm = 12.675cm

I then checked it with a ruler. Giggled.

i've done the nurburgring on them, no problem (ok they went a bit blue, but they didn't fall apart!)

its done in the same way they make new tyres, they just use old cases, as long as the rubber is vulcanised properly its fine
