Re-spraying my 182???

Right, I have just bought a silver 182 (I previously had a 172) and I have always wanted a liquid yellow 182 but considering they go for around 9k, little me can't afford this
So I got a quote from a friend on getting it fully re-sprayed for £1000 - this includes materials etc but I doubt this will include spraying of the engine bay and I know it is never a 'proper' job but...

Please can I have peoples opinions and advise on getting my silver 182 re-sprayed liquid yellow?

for 1000 i would expect a good job,

its when people start coming back with figures like £300 you need to be worried

If it's exterior only I wouldn't bother.

Best check with your insurance on the price difference as well.

Plus resprayed cars are generally speaking worth less than cars in the original colour.

Dont do it IMO. 1k wont include the engine bay which as said will always lead to the car not being worth as much. If you are going to do a colour change get the car stripped properly and engine out IMO. I'd leave it silver personally.

Unless it envolves a complete strip/ respray/ then rebuild I don't think I'd bother. I've seen liquid yellows when 1 panel has been resprayed and it never matches the rest.

waste of time/money and will devalue the car.

colour changes should only be done if the car has to be sprayed anyway, like accident damage/bodykit put on imo

Do a roof/bonnet combo in ly, or perhaps some fancy graphic work in same?
