really sick of tiscali!

ive been with them since the start of aug, i signed upto the 8mb bb after they did a test on the line and said it could hold 4.5mb, so i took it out. Its been slow ever since, done a test tonight and im getting 1.74 mbps? so i called them up to complain, they done all sorts of tests and said my line is fine but it can only hold upto 2.5mb?!!

i said this cant be right, and i wouldnt of took it out with them if that was the case, they said if i wanted to cancel i would be charged as ive just took out a 12 month contract?!

i know the calls are recorded so the very first one will of been recorded where i was told what the line could of took, do i have any come back?

where do i stand? what should i do?

I'm affraid you don't have much comeback, all the products are sold as upto 8mb, length of line etc, noise all affect the speed.

Mine always connects at 8128kps but my actually download is just over 6mb. Unless you were getting really bad speeds I don't see there is much you can do.

BT's actual product specification is shocking aswell, while MaxDSL is advertised as upto 8mb, they don't physically have to do a thing unless your connection is consistently below 400kbps.

You've no option really, unless there's a cooling period then it would be only goodwill that will let you leave it.
