Rear Caliper Carriers

Just bought 2 rear caliper carriers and had them powder coated so all is well bt on picking the parts up and looking one seems to be different from the other with 2 holes in it. Can someone explain what these holes are used for and if they make any difference ?

The first picture shows the caliper with the 2 holes in it and the second picture shows the standard carrier.

Im hoping that dremel tools are wonderful things

You'll need them the pads won't sit in on the corners and the angled bracket thing won't slide in right, too much powder on them.
