Rear Clusters

I posted before and found a guide on how to upgrade and change the wiring of a Mk2 Ph1 to Ph2 lights.

Im having problems getting the silver connecters out of the wiring loom though? The plastic at the back wont budge and is keeping the connector in place. I dont want to be too heavy handed with it incase i break all the plastic.

Any ideas guys?

Wedge a little screw driver in there and prise them back.

Edit: assuming you mean the bit where you have to pull the wires out of the connector.

Yeh thats what iv been doing, but its getting to the stage where the plastic is starting crack and with no joy of getting the wires out. Iv already buggered one of the connections, fog light wire has broke but il just solder it back on.

Good luck mate, I had the same problem, ended up paying my mechanic to do it for me after almost snapping and bending one of the pins. Was going to do a guide, but couldn't get that far.

Yeh i think its getting to the stage where il just get someone who knows what their doing to do it.
Glad to here its not just me thats making this mistake, as everyone seems to think its rather easy :p

What, they just pull out of the block? it seems like the wire is connected all the way to the end of the pins.

Now youv got the clip at the front undone, turn it round to the back and prise out the little plastic bits behind the connector and they should now be able to pull out the wires.

Move them to the correct positions and its done
