Rear Exhaust Mount

Just ordered my 4th mount in 18months! they really are made of cheese. should i write to renault about it?

Pack the mount with something underneath and cable tie in place.

Both my rear mounts have split and the exhaust is sat on the bottom of them.

I should probably get them sorted

they are so crap, it must be a design fault. ive never had a car go through so many.

They really are.

Exhaust mounts are one of those things that you'd never even think about, let alone think about replacing. But 1*2s seem to go through exhaust mounts with every tank of fuel

Theyre s**te, most reno's only have like 2 hangers on the whole system, (like the clio) and its just not enough to hold it all nice... Im making another at the weekend to hold my k tec stealth right, Coming off the back box clamp so it will now have 2 on.
I fitted it with a brand new rear mount and with the weight of the zaust if just fell straight to the bottom of the mount! s**tE tbh. Does my nut in.

You need something like this:

Drill the top hole out to fit the exhaust bracket and cable tie in place; jobs a good 'un.

mines a pain in the ass too. had 2 at one point but when the car went in to get the flexi done the dude had took one of the mounts off and stuck a cable tie on. hits against the bumper now at times so may just buy another n go back to havin 2!

Mounts about £17.00 from Renault? I know they're about that on Ktec but I would have thought Renault are c-nuts and charge way more? Anyone shed any light on this?

got mine from k tec, its exactly the same as the renault ones ive been through, i think they're the same price too.

was a ball ache to fit using only a trolley jack!

Ktec is a wonderful place. Just priced up a full set of new brake pads and discs....rather reasonable

Ktec use cable ties and piping themselves when fitting exhausts. Hardly ghetto.

My new one have been modded with copper pipe wrapped in rubber pipe held in with cable ties. Now make the parcel shelf vibrate sometime though lol, can't win.
