Rear Impact on My 182 :(

Car  S4, Tamora, Conti GT
Was waiting at some traffic lights, first in the queue, and a woman in an old Rover 215 went into the back of me, looking quickly doesnt seem like much damage, but when i pulled over at the side of the road the rear bumper has dropped about an inch, and one of the exhausts is sticking out more than the other and there are now some scratches to the rear bumper.
Are there any certain places on 182's that are weak from rear impacts that need to be checked before making a claim, thanks for any replies.

Check the boot floor mate. Lift the carpet up.

You'd be surprised how badly damaged it can be from a small bump.

the boot florr will no doubt be creased, have a good look around.. and run your hands around all the bootfloor as you can often see what you cant feel

If your unsure- maybe a trip to rentech for them to assess-

thanks for the quick replies, i have booked it into an accident repair centre tomorrow but they just seemed to say about the exhaust and bumper, if the boot floor is creased what is the next step, is this fixable or f*cked?

If the boot floors buckled i think its pretty well fucked tbh :(

Theres the boot floor to me it looks fine, but one of the exhaust hangar bolt is slightly recessed.

i would be tempted to go for a out of insurance cash settlement on that. quote for rear bumper, exhaust + hangers ( or maby just hangers) then rear bumper and paint.. plus a little for yourself..

did you also check the back edge that the bumper and boot runs against tho ?

went to a local accident repair centre this morning, they removed the bumper which needs new mounts to attach it to the rear wings, some of the frame that the bumper attaches to is bent (nothing major) bumper needs new impact guard (polystyrene insert) and a respray, the exhaust is bent, one of the exhaust tips sticks out about an inch further than the other. Will drop off this quote to the woman that hit me, and see what she wants to do, im thinking shes going to use insurance as the total cost of the quote came in at £1062

More importantly, how's your neck? ;)

On a serious note, I'm surprised that quote isn't higher tbh, i'd be going for new parts wherever you can, after all, you are not at fault here.
