Rear mount @ pro-speed

  221bhp/ton Mondial Terror
Im going to prospeed on wednesday to have a new exhaust system including de-cat fitted to my car. The only problem I have is the rear mount for the back box is knackered and my current backbox is about 1 inch from the ground!:clown: Does charlie have a replacement rear mount there or do i need to get hold of one pretty sharpish?

your best bet would be to buy a new one and take it with you. however after 2 months the new one will be knackered so i'd advise modifying it.

loads of people do it different ways but i personally bought a universal exhaust mount from halfords for about £1.50. i then cut away the 'X' inside the renault mount, and inserted the universal one which was pretty much a perfect fit. couple of cable ties to hold it tight and your sorted. been on about 5months now and its not sagged much, nor *fingers crossed* had any problems with the exhaust.

I used some wood and coupled with the s**t design on my Prospeed hanger it cracked the weld....

I'd get a new mount if I were you - Although Prospeed will beef up the mount with some random bits of rubber. Excuse the pic - My ProSpeed was not one of their best. lol. You can see the extra mount they fitted. With the hanger hanging straight down because the metal snapped around the weld due to poor design causing vibration.

That's the same as mine but without the extra mount and the peice of bar welded to the flat mount on the back box. Such a crap design it's unreal! Yours looks "better" though.....

The rear mount is buggered again?! I only had that replaced just before I sold the car, so 7000 miles ago. Renault parts for you.

as said buy a new one from renault and take it with you...exactly what I did and it's fine....has sagged a little so you can just see a small ammount of the back box from the rear of the car but it's livable...
