and as the man says, it is most likely to be that, have a look inside at the connections, see if there is any corrosion (will probs look a little green). if so, get some sand paper out and try and sand it off to a shiny metal surface.
oh, first check would be the bulb the right way round, just in case
Had a look last night and everything appears to be clean and shiny where the connectors are, also tried a new bulb and that didn't help either.
I checked the connectors with a volt meter to make sure that current is getting there, it's 11.5volts with the engine off and 14.2 volts with it on, both of which should be plenty to power the bulb.
