Rear shocks

Hi all im new here and just bought myself a phase 2 172. The rear shocks on the car are gone and i need to replace them, now ive done a search and i assume that the sport models had different shocks to the standard spec ones, is this just stiffer etc, what i want to know is will the shocks off a 1.2 fit as i cant get any proper ones until the end of the month?

have you looked in the for sale section, i got 2 for £35 not long ago

had a quick flick through will hunt through the ads now. bloke in the autofactors said the 172 has same part number as others on rear shocks

ok new question, whats the difference between 172 rear shocks and 182 cup rear shocks? Ive ordered some 182 cup ones

right just for the benifit of anyone in the futrure ive fitted the new shocks which are off a 182 cup and they fit and work fine on the 172, car is completely transformed now, the drivers rear shock was completely shot

hey fow, probably you can tell me? my cars well bouncy on back end (ph2) quite scary some times when i corner left really hard. is this the shocks gone??? cheers. oh 1 more thing did u fit them ur self? i work in pontypool what colour is va whip??

hi mate, yea that sounds like the drivers rear is gone, yea i changed them myself they are simple to do. Mine is a black 02 plate with twin exhaust. Ive got a good shock up the unit i took of the passenger side i was going to sell if its any use to you

I got them off eBay mate will try and get the part number off the box when I go up the unit
