Rear suspension problem - wobbly feel?

I just bought a Clio 182 fairly cheaply! No major problems but something is wrong with the rear suspension - the ride height is uneven and the back of the car is very soft to push down? When driving it feels a bit wobbly from the back.

What is the most likely cause of this on these cars - shocks, springs? I will have it on ramps in a few days but want to be prepared!

Probably shagged rear shocks.

Not uncommon.

The car won't sit 100% even at the rear normally anyway though due to (IIRC) due to the fuel tank.

That's the answer I was hoping for - just had a look and can't see any cracks on the springs.

Could have had a broken spring at sometime, and the wrong one has been fitted, say off a 1.2 or similar.

I would check the rear dampers for oil leaks I have had 4 new rear dampers since Jan 2012, 5,000 miles til I noticed the oil leaks on the first set.

Renault changed them for me under warranty, second set were leaking after 80 miles or 1 day later.

I just bought a pair from Renault, I will keep an eye on them when they are fitted.

Just changed the rear shocks, seemed pretty knackered. Found a broken spring - are there any aftermarket springs that will fit or is it a trip to Renault again (I have the cup packs)? Eurocarparts have springs that 'will fit', but they are the same part no. as all the other Mk2 Clios.
