rear wheel bearing change

  Ly Megane 230 F1
Im wondering how hard it is to take out a wheel bearing and put them into replacement discs?

reason being.. my warranty covers bearings but not brake discs so il give the car to renault to change the bearings then in a few months when i goto change the discs il hopefuly manage to swap them over ( if this is silly bare with me im new to clios :) )

Should be a simple enough job if you pop them to a workshop or garage who have a press and dont damage them while taking out or putting them in

Chances are Renault may just replace the discs. Because on Genuine discs, the bearings come pressed into the discs anyway.
Which is why most people recommend when you replace the discs yourself always get genuine rears.

if you're talking genuine bits, it's cheaper to get a pair of rear disks with pre pressed bearings, than to buy the bearings on their own.

the discs do not need doing at the moment but soon.. and the warranty i got with the car covers bearings and only lasts 3 months. so i will be getting the bearings changed before the discs get changed.

are the bearing actually an issue currently? if not, you're more likely to create an issue by disturbing them

what issue can be caused by changing them? surely if an issue is raised from a garage changing bearings under warranty they would have to sort the problem that has happened from them changing the bearings?

at the moment whatever rear one it is...it is bearable but if i can get it sorted under warranty in my opinion i am aswell to get it done?

if they're rumbling then they need attention. Sounded like you were just wanting them done because they were available ;)

If they use cheap parts then they won't last, that's the issue with changing them un-neccesarily

if you press out the existing bearing and put it in a new disc you'll more than likley knacker it anyway, and for the sake of £20 a bearing (or £55 per disc COMPLETE with bearing and ABS ring for genuine) why bother?
