recalibrate steering angle sensor?

with the Pure quickrack on the car, does the SAS need recalibrating?
I can imagine that now for a given steeringwheel angle the wheel angle being greater this might wreak havoc with the ABS and ESP....

So hoping I can recalibrate with CLIP instead of messing with the car again.....

Sigh...thinking about it...might aswell do it right.
Set wheels @ straight ahead
Remove steeringwheel
Release column (luckily I can reach it from above)
Twist column until SAS shows yellow (is it twist until yellow starts showing plus 180deg?)
Pray everything lines up and refit....

That's what I did last week.

Worked a treat, no more abs light.

Turn it until its yellow, then another half a turn. Put it back on. Job done

did this.....no joy

carefully turned it end to end to count the turns, did the yellow plus 180deg.......and she just laughed at me.....bloody french women!

Did you have the wheels aiming forward when you did it to replicate what the sensor is telling the ECU?

The first few times I attempted it, the abs light stayed on after putting it all back together.

Final attempt which worked, all I did differently was I did it with the battery already connected when plugging the sensor back in.

On the attempts which didn't work I had got the battery disconnected as I wasn't keen on having an airbag go off in my face.

I have no idea why that would make a difference, but it did and the light hasn't been on since.

will try again then, battery was still on as apparently the airbags use a resistor bridge and are safe to unplug.

broke my stereo remote though......
