Recaros or...?

i'm looking to save for some bucket seats, but i'm undecided whether to go the whole hog and go with the recaros or something just as good but a leetle cheaper.

can anyone advise on some? plus any frames that would be needed or something? im new to this so bare with me!

deffo want to keep the rear seats and boot...i still get passengers etc!

the harnesses appeal to me, but i think it'll be pointless and bit of a hassle for a non-track car so will stick with standard

I've had recaro's, and cobra daytona's. The recaro's are a little more comfy, but the cobra's have a vastly better driving position, by being a fair bit lower. Daytona's also a lot cheaper, for the same money as the recaro's you could get cobra misano's, which is what I would go for.

Aye, spot on. Fixed buckets and harnesses are a pain in the ass for daily use.

Recaro's are a good bet, often come up on here/ on ebay too.

Cobra daytonas are another option, not as oem as the recaros, and wont match your interior. Not sure if they tilt and slide either.

Misano's are nice, a bit bling in comparison to other seats though (depending on what you're after)

Are there specific ones, or are most recaros pretty good? And how easy/expensive is it to have these fitted by someone?

New the recaros are about £1200 (eek) and its the 'trendlines' you're after, as fitted to the trophy (this is for a pair with subframes etc etc)

Secondhand they go for about £800.

If you want a set of secondhand recaro trendlines (182 trophy seats) It's a case of as & when they come along, which isn't too often. When they do, folk go mad for them.

Capital Seating were the folk to speak too. Their prices are meant to be bang on.

Why would you? They'd charge you more! If it has to be Recaro's, capital seating are the best to buy from. But IMO (having had both), your paying 4-500 for the name alone. Much, much better to go 2nd hand if you must.

but when it comes to buying, i'd still have no idea tbh :\
i take it the sub-frames will have to be bought seperate? i literally know nothing about measurements and stuff, is it easy to find someone to fit them?
again, sorry if i'm sounding duhhhh, but getting the info from you lot is far easier than me trying to understand it from some random website!

So easy to fit. Find a mate that can tie there shoelaces, will be more than capable of fitting the seats. Pro's will charge £200 upwards, and do no better job.

If you speak to the guys at capital seating, they've supplied lots to members on here.

Explain which car you have, and which seats you want, and they'll supply everything you need to fit.

As for fitting, a few hours. A jack, some axle stands and a socket set.

+1. Get a long reach socket for the bolts near the exhaust, fckers to get too.

ah peperami! showing me that piccy when i can't get them for so long!

I think i've got a couple of people that'll prob be able to sort it then...when i eventually get some. Hate having to pay back for the car
Hopefully got a C/F splitter coming, so will need to do that first after i've got all my paint work sorted!

If you want recaro's on a budget & aren't fussed about leather (the recaro's are faux leather anyway - so i've been told)
Look into a set from a mitsi evo (like an 8 or something like that) they will be a lot cheaper, but i'm not 100% of they tilt forward (someone will verify that though) You'd need a set of sub frames too.
