Hey people,

Thought this may be interest to you all as you all provided me such awesome feedback on the video I did for Ellen all about her & her clio :)
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?576592-Another-Cheeky-Videos-of-the-182-(pops-and-bangs-included)&highlight=

Anyway as I said on that thread I'm mainly a still photographer but I've been getting into putting together some short films since the start of this year.

Plan is to get good enough at the editing side of things to be able to put together a really big project that I'm working on for this summer :)

Anyway I'll start at the first "storyboard" style film that I've done.

For anyone that hasn't seen it, here is the one that I did for Ellen, and thank you once again for all the feedback on this!

Ellen's Renault Sport Clio 182 - Bring on the noise!

A short video showing off my friend Ellen's RenaultSport Clio 182.

I'll be honest, I still don't feel all that comfortable working with video, still photography is definitely my thing, but I'm willing to keep giving this a go until I able to put out semi decent short videos.

This was the first video I've ever done where I had a goal in mind, a story board almost. I collected a whole bunch of angles with the help of my Canon 7D, a home made glide cam setup & my Gopro HD Hero. This is the result of all that footage!

Thanks to Ellen obviously for bringing out her car & being a guinea pig for me to practice with ;) & thank you to my bros for helping out with the shooting of all the video footage.

However as I've said, I'm still learning with video, & this has a lot wrong with it, but I'm happy to share it & learn from it all :)

For anyone interested the spec of the car is as follows:

Piper Race Induction
Polished & matched inlets
Over run remap
all done at JMS Automotive Renault Sport specialists in Chertsey.
Exhaust is a YozzaSport straight back cat back exhaust, with a YozzaSport decat.
Suspension is thanks to a set of Vmaxx Coilovers!

Thanks for looking!

Song is:
Animal (Fake Blood Remix) - Miike Snow

Ok then I put together this very short video of a friends Honda Civic SiR...

Tegiwa Imports B16 Air Intake - Before & After

My buddy Matt came round today to show off his new purchase, a Carbon fibre air intake for his Honda Civic SiR. Pretty tasty bit of kit :)

I thought it was an ideal chance to practice with some video editing...

Inspiration to put this together was to help those thinking about changing from their standard intakes to one supplied by Tegiwa Imports tegiwaimports.co.uk

I wrote up a feature on this car a while back for the automotive blog Fitted Life, if your interested then be sure to check it out here...
fittedlife.com/autoshooters/details-matts-civic-sir-offensively-loud-please/

Video & audio footage entirely collected by a GoPro HD.

Audio Track:
Weezer - Troublemaker
I thought it was a fitting song ;)

******************************************************

He liked what I did for him so much that I then planned on doing another video, more of a storyboard one, I took on all the advice and criticism I got from the video I had done for Ellen about her clio and anyway it turned out like this...

******************************************************

Honda Civic SiR - A Brief Introduction

After the awesome & really constructive comments I got back from the Clio footage I put together, I bring you another attempt at a short video :)

This one involves my friend Matts Honda Civic SiR.

This is my first video done using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Shot in 2 hours, put together over 2 days.

All footage collected using a Canon 7D & Go Pro HD.
Audio recording done either via the two video recording devices or through the help of a Zoom H1.

There are mistakes & flaws in my editing & my filming, but its all practice & I feel I'm heading in the right direction with all this :)

Song used: Shapeshifter - Bring Change

Enjoy!

******************************************************

Also done a short film from yesterdays antics at the Gumball Rally start in London, will share that with you all once its up :)

Anyway all feedback is good as far as I'm concerned & you've all been very helpful on here as well, so please feel free to let me know your thoughts & criticism on what I've done so far.

Cheers,

Dan

Thank you very much mate :) haha I'm sure something could be arranged if you wanted one done :)
I'm also hoping to attend some of your meets over the summer, including the French Car Show, so will put together something for those as well.

Here is the Gumball 3000 video I've put together from yesterdays antics in Covent Garden :)

A brief video showing some of my video footage from todays Gumball 3000 event in Covent Garden.

Covent Garden, Russell Street marked the starting line of this years Gumball Rally, & I took advantage of all the super cars parked up before the start to collect some handheld footage of the cars with the help of my Canon 7D.

I never meant to turn this all into a proper video, but I had an idea to sync it alongside an audio track, so I went with it & this is the result.

Audio Track used: Aloe Blacc - I Need a Dollar

Enjoy!

Good stuff mate. I want a camera that shoots video so badly, haven't got around to doing any editing in the last few years :dapprove:

Only bit of crit is that some of the shots could do with being cut a second or so earlier, especially in the last vid of the civic. But then again I'm watching at work with no speakers, so I may not be getting the full effect! Is is shot around Woodley way?

  Evo 8 MR
Good work, the last one needs the music turning down a lot though when he starts the car up and obviously when he's booting it, that's what we want to hear more so than the music. Loud music and engine noise together sort of just clashes if you know what I mean.

I liked the slow mo of the water though, thought that was a neat touch.

See this is what I love about this forum! Thanks for the replies guys :D

Luke_89 - Thank you, yeah it definitely helps a lot having the ability to switch to video & shoot some scenes :)
Ok sweet, definitely take on board the cutting, I feel I let things hang too long so its good to know that others notice too. Right ok if your missing the audio then your missing the building up of tempo which that video definitely has. Yep it is shot around woodley/reading area :)

st3ve - Thanks very much :) ok thats a very valid point with the audio, I wasn't sure myself whether it would overpower the car, I was trying to make it exciting though and I thought the audio and its increase in tempo would build up the intensity. But yeah I totally know what you mean, definite clash in that video especially, will keep that in mind for my next one :)
Thanks for the feedback on the slow mo, premiere pro and its plugins are awesome :D

Cheers for the feedback guys, great to read :D

Sounds good Luke, will do :) I'll get talking to Ellen & put together some ideas.
haha yeah hers is very loud but it'd be nice to have a complete contrast in colour and sound ;)

World really is a small place, I was watching your video of Ellen's motor the other day, and I'm 99% sure I saw you at covent garden Thursday, how funny.

Nice cutting on the Gumball vid! Great track to use too!

You stated the 3rd vid was edited on Premier, the 1st 2 you posted what did you use?

  R32 Skyline GTST
Ian 182 - thank you very much :)

Rob - haha yeah its a very small world :D Should definitely come & say hello if you see me at any events, I'm always up for a chat :) Hope you had a good time on thursday too! Loads of fun :)

Pagey6005 - Thank you very much mate, yeah I thought the track was fitting. Cutting was a simple idea but I'm glad it improved it from shakey hand held video to something a little bit more interesting to view.
Yeah the gumball one and the Honda Civic SiR brief intro were done on Premiere, Ellens video of her clio was actually done on iMovie :S & the Civic Tegiwa intake vid was also done on iMovie :)
Much happier now I've made a switch to premiere pro :D

Thanks for all the feedback on the last lot of videos Clio people :D really appreciated!

Here is another one from me

A collection of footage from a DWYB day held at Santa Pod on the 8th of June 2011.

I tried to get as much footage as possible on this day so as to have another go at putting together a short video.

The BDC driver Andy Arnott features quite heavily in the first part of this video, big thanks to him for letting me stick my cameras all over his car & for taking me out to get some footage!
His facebook page can be found here
facebook.com/pages/Andy-Arnott-Drifting-fan-page/216371788375492

Huge thank you to everyone else for making me feel as welcome as usual at these events, look forward to getting more footage next time!

Filming done with a Canon 7D & a Gopro HD.
Audio recording achieved with a Zoom H1 & a Rode 'shotgun' mic.

Not got any stabilising kit yet, so its a bit shaky cam in a lot of places, mono pod was used for some of the panning shots.

Edited in near enough two days using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Far from perfect, a lot more to learn but I feel I'm making progress :) Next thing to learn is more special effects & some colour correction.

Song used:
Example - Changed the way you kissed me.

Pictures from this event can be seen on my flickr here

& a whole bunch more can be seen on my website here

Thanks for watching!
