Recommend me a sub&amp please!!

After a sub and amp for a boot build i am going to start but i dont know alot about it like 4 ohms or 50-400 Hz what ever that means ??
i am looking at about £100 max for a sub and £150/£200 for a decent amp to run it any help would be appreciated.

Pretty difficult to recommend anything without some relevant info isn't it mate....

Need to know;

Space available for enclosure
Type of music you mainly listen to
Effect you desire, (boom boom over quality or vica versa)
etc etc

JBL subs are pretty good for the money
