Recommend me some Headphones

iPhone, in-ear as i’m not on the register, up to £200 or so.

Get some AirPod pro 3’s. They sound great, the best noise cancelling, the best transparency mode and the extra features (conversation mode, translation, gesture controls etc) make it a bit of a no brainer with an iPhone.

They’re £180 on Amazon atm.

Cheers, never had the Apple AirPods. Will take a look, although not a fan of the white or the bits that stick down! What are their main competitors?

I’ve also got some Bowers & Wilkins pi7 (can’t find them ffs now my Jabras are chewed up!) but they’re more my back up set as not impressed with them.

The new Sonys, they always sound great but I’ve never found a pair that really fits well. £££ as well.

The Bose qc ultra 2 are good, but pricey and the connection can be a bit unreliable.

I think the benefit of the stem design, is the amount of tech they’re having to fit in. With the stemless designs (Sony) they end up relatively chunky, with the mass sort of pulling the buds out. With the AirPods (and imaging the new Samsungs) the weight is better distributed so they stay in place.

I’ve a slight addiction, but since I’ve bought the newest AirPods I haven’t bought any others. Used to try at least 3 pairs a year.

At least with Amazon, if you don’t get on with them you can return them.

Cheers. Was literally just about to click pay on Amazon for the Apple Pros.. then received an insurance email. I have to send them off to be examined and guess they may just replace them. Assumed they would just pay out!

Tbh, all of the decent stuff sounds really good now. AirPods, Sony, Samsung, Technics etc are much better than the cheaper stuff in terms of noise cancelling, features etc.

The technics still seem to be winning a lot of comparisons. Think only the Sonys have better NC but I think if you like your music the Technics seem to be the one to beat.

Really think they look like a great fit.

They fit terribly. Just gradually work their way out.

The technics are great. But the nc isn’t as good as the AirPods. Think in testing they’re still the top. But we’re talking fractions, and which fits best will be the best.

Another reason I’d pick the technics over the Sony, is the hybrid foam tips on the Sony. They’re more hassle, have to go through the pinch and roll, then hold routine.

I’m going to keep the AirPod pros.
Both are significantly better quality than my old Jabras, but for me the AirPods had a better overall sound than the soundpeats!
So with that and the better anc/apple integration etc seemed the better choice!
it’s a shame they only come in white!!

My insurance paid out £59, after paying £50 excess and £7 postage for them to be checked, ffs.

I’d say sound quality is average on the Air Pod pros.. not enough bass imo and I wouldn’t say worth the price difference. Will keep them as cba to send back and reorder.

Not enough bass. I’d say there’s probably a bit too much.

I’d double check the tips are right (if they’re a little too small you’ll lose bass) and run the hearing test. It’ll produce an audiogram, and using adaptions you can apply the audiogram and it’ll alter the tuning to your specific hearing.

Yes. I always found one ear would work lose with the older ones, with the 3’s I can workout in them and they don’t budge. The hybrid silicone/foam tips are really good.

I've got some old AirPods for when I am out and about, they are ok. At home I've got a pair of AKGs K702 that I use.

I think my XM4s have finally died the anc has stopped working at all and have to put it in pairing mode to connect all the time.

Not sure what to go with next I'm tempted by the AirPods Max for the ease of switching connections with all my apple stuff but £500 is a lot.

It's a dangerous rabbit hole, I recently upgraded to some Truthear Nova, and for the money the quality is astounding.
having gone from some AirPods to hearing high quality music through a reasonably priced setup I just can't go back

Tried some. Pretty rubbish. Don’t really see the need given how good transparency mode is, and the noise protection normal buds can offer.

Alot of events won't allow in ear headphones but most do allow bone conduction versions.

Still using the Dre Beats you sold me years ago for general use and training.

What about the cuff style open ones? Not in ear, so they don’t block the ear canal, but much better sound quality?

I’ve used Aftershox for a number of years for running. Comfy, sound quality is good enough (it’s never going to match proper headphones and has some simple built in controls. Was useful as my local plod was towpaths so could hear cyclists and that. The over-ear pit Sometimes sat a bit funny with a cap/sunglasses.
