Recommended Renault Specialist - Midlands

  Clio Sport 172
Hi everyone, it's my first post so hope this goes better than my car is at the mo! I love my 172 but was a little shocked with the result of my recent mot. I'm looking for recommendations on Renault Specialists (dealer is too expensive and I don't know if a normal garage will just bodge this job) in and around the Midlands to carry out some repairs.

Basically I need the following doing:

1. Cam gasket as the cam cover has a leak
2. Cam belt kit (including plugs)
3. Auxiliary belt kit
4. Dephaser pulley replacing
5. Sump gasket replacing

Dunno if I should replace the water pump at the same time? The parts alone are quite expensive and not sure whether to get genuine or scrimp a little on cheaper parts (false economy?).

Cheers for reading

Col

Not personally, but he viewed a car for me before and he's a really knowledgable and helpful guy

Loads of people on here have used him and I haven't heard a bad word said about him.

Put it this way, if you go to him you won't get fucked about!

I'm sensing Fred might be a good bet! I'm based in the west side (thats not meant to sound gangsterish) of Coventry which is about 12 miles from B33, which sounds spot on to me. Give you a call 2moz then Fred?

Despite having never met the Fred, I've read more good reviews and got more solid, definitive advice off of him than any other person on here. The bloke is obviously VERY good at what he does :)

Sorry to dig up an old post. I currently need to get a clutch fitted to the Meg 225. Does this kind of thing really need a specialist to do? If I want to use a specialist my options are from Gloucester area

Trade 'n' Save (know back in the day they were highly regarded but I think over the years they have lost interest in the older stuff and prefer modern stuff) on my doorstep

Diamond (have used in the past) 2hr drive

Midlands Renault Specialist (I was going to use these till I looked on the map and realised how on earth can they call themselves the midlands?) 2.5hr drive
