Red 172 - Cup?

  Peugeot 306 Rallye
On the hunt for a 172 at the moment and love the look of them in red. A couple of questions if anyone could help out:

- Did they do a Cup version in this colour?
- Was it a limited edition like quite a few adverts say?

Thanks.

172 cups only came in Mondial Blue and Iceberg Silver.

The red you're looking at is Flame red. Not a limited edition, no. Just not that many sold.

Tend to hold their price better than silvers and blacks..

No cups in red. Ever.
Wasn't numbered, but there aren't as many.

Makes more sense now.

Since looking for a 172, I've been quite surprised with how few seem to be selling. So many on eBay seem to be relisted, definitely a buyers market.

Many people just see titles of other cars, think theres is the same and then just copy it.

The easiest spot if you can't tell the colours apart, is the headlight washers. 172's have them, but 172 Cups just have blanking plates. The wheels/spoiler may have changed, but it's unlikely someone would have added those.

Because they're epic, IMO.

Only RS I'd have over a Rallye would be a 182 Trophy..

Owning a 306 is irrelevant. Mine's s**t.

Beware some car dealers list the 172's as "Cup" but are clearly not. How about a 182 Trophy, they come in red.

Out my budget mate. The Cup thing doesn't bother me too much. I've had a 306 Rallye for a while and so quite fancy something with a few toys for a change, and really like the Flame Red Clios.

I wouldn't worry too much about it being a Cup... It's a big hype and you won't notice a difference on the road (I've owned both).

If you like Flame Red they can look amazing.

2nd only to black ;)

My Rallye's black, first black car I've owned. A right pain to keep clean. They look stunning in low light or when the sun doesn't shine directly at them, but when it does, any imperfections show right up. I've even had it detailed to reduce the swirls but the sun is still a killer.

Ye it is a pain to keep clean, you dont even have to drive it for it to get dirty. I washed and machine polished mine last week, its not moved since, and I couldnt believe how filthy it was earlier when I came home from work. Looked mint when I did it though

I've recently swapped my Mauritius Blue VTR for my Flame Red 172 and i can honestly say that the Clio is sooooooooooo much easier to keep clean.

You can't beat a dark colour, they look brilliant - but only when clean. Flame Red imo looks awesome clean and is a lot easier to keep looking clean... Even if it isn't really.

Quick picture of the Saxo... As you can see, kinda nearly black so i do understand what you're talking about.

So according to that there were only 468 Monaco Blue 172's too.

They didn't do a flame red 182 did they, just the Trophy red?

Monaco Blue seems quite uncommon too, yea.

182's in red were the Trophy, yea. Also Inferno, but that's more of an Orange i suppose.
