Reg plates from Fancyplates?

  Civic Type S GT
On here there's a guide about 3/4 plate from fancyplates. On the guide it says size should be 520x84mm but another post says recess is 90mm tall. So is it 520x84mm or 520x90mm to fit perfectly where the reg plate goes?

The 84 mm ones are the 3/4 ones, but if you do them at 90mm they are slightly bigger font size wise.

90mm :

84mm will leave a slight edge at the bottom which you can see on the LY in the guide.

172Ben - I know about the guide thats why I have posted because theres a post under that that mentions the plate being 90mm, the guide says 84mm.

Alex C - So yours is 90mm? That sits well in the gap.

UPDATE* Plates arrived this morning, havn't had time to drill holes and put them on, hopefully tomorrow aswell as my yozza if it arrives. BUT, it doesn't seem to fit quite as lush as I thought, theres quite a gap to be fair. I'll get the measuring tape out and have a look.

gives a s**t it just means my plates arent nickable

Except with a screwdriver ;) I'll just run the risk of having my plates pulled off and nabbed, never heard of it happening but I guess with some people in the world, it will somewhere eventually.

Trying to sort out of a decent price for those bits, will let you know.

seriously it takes time to undo screws unlike seeing no screws and just having a pull and getting a result

I was going to fit my reg plate today but my yozza arrived so been busy with that. When I do fit it though I'm going to use screws just for that piece of mind really.

WELL!!! Just measured the reg plate as it didn't look right and it's not, I ordered a 520mm and I actually got a 500mm!

I was going to ask who's used the sticky pads provided and who's used screws to come to a decision. Turns out it's actually velcro vs screws. Hmmmm......?

I used sticky pads for my rear plate, but aparently its a pain in the ass to clear up if you take the plates off. I'll be using velco for the fronts so if the police do give me any bother with the size i can just pull of and put old one on.

This may sound silly but those who has used velcro pads, how many have you used? E.g. one down each side or sides, top and bottom. Cheers!

Never made myself known on here before, but finally have something to add. Was wondering - what about using magnetic tape for number plates? (Ok so it's not the idea of the Century.) I'm amazed Velcro works, although it must do otherwise nobody would use it - you'd think the rear plate would get pulled off with the drag at higher speeds.
