Regsitering Japanese PSP

Got a Jap PSP for xmas and i'm abouts to register it on yourpsp.com.

It asks for the serial code which is fine, but then also asks for the model number. These numbers go from PSP1002 to PSP1008.

Mine being Jap, is PSP-1000. Shall i just put in PSP-1002 as my model number?

Anyone done this and had problems receiving their PSP pack?

Ok just tried to register using all of the PSP model numbers but it won't allow me to register. Says:
There is a problem with some of the details provided.

The Serial Number is not a valid Serial Number for the Model Number selected.

Anything else i can do to get it registered? I'm sure someone has been able to do it with a Jap one before?

wonder if mines a jap psp aswell? its from play.com so it shouldnt be.

but the main manual is in japaneese!

whats the benefit of registering it?

You get a UMD holder now i think, used to be Spiderman movie. but you can also donwload extra content of the site. Bit of a b*****d!

But no big deal

Would still like to register though. I'm sure someone on here has done it with a Jap one before

yeh, im not that botherd about registering!

i didnt ask for a psp for xmas! dont think il use it much to be honest, but wouldnt mind getting an english manual from play so i can make better use out of it!

Found this reply on the Playstation forum, gonna give it a try now.

No, you can register it, just put the purchase date as September 1st, version as 1003 and use the serial under the battery. Mine worked and Spiderman's on the way

I wouldnt mind a manual too, i'm gonna look on the sony site, see if there's a downloadable PDF or something. I'll let you know if i find one

Dean, i just managed to register mine by saying purchase date was 1st september, model 1003 AND when you put in your serial number, the two letters need to be SB instead of SJ, so it will be something like

Serial Number: SB577xxxx

Not sure mate, try it with FJ wirst, if not try SB.

I had about 20 attempts so it won't lock you out of the site if you get it wrong.
