Relocate fibre broadband

Our fibre line comes into the flat and terminates in a little box on the wall, a line then comes out of that and connects to the router. We want to move the router to a different part of the room but the cable isn't long enough, and replacing it with a longer one isn't an option because we stupidly routed it under the floor 🙄
Can I extend the existing cable, like is there a female to female plug or something I can stick on the end and just run a new fibre cable from it, or can you add a new little box and run a fresh cable from that?
My tech knowledge only extends as far as building computers and plugging things in, the rest of it may as well be witchcraft 🫣

The cable that comes from the fibre box (ONT) to the router, that'll likely be ethernet cable rather than fibre.

If so then can just get something similar to the above but for ethernet/rj45 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=ethernet+coupler

I would have assumed that as well, but it's definitely a fibre cable to the router

My Virgin is the same. There's a box on the wall that takes the external fibre, then a shorter fibre run to the Virgin router.

That's exactly what you need. You won't experience any speed drops with that length either.

Just be careful with your SP if they need to come and do anything under warranty, they'll spot something you've done yourself a mile off. Remove before appointment,

I thought it was coax, but the installation guy referred to it as fibre.

Mind you he also cocked up the measurement and made his first bit of cable a few feet short.
