Removed acoustic valve, engine light on?

  Dodgy one
Is this normal? I unplugged the charcoal canister but when the light came back on i plugged the canister back in. Since then its stayed on, The cars performance hasnt changed at all so was querying it.

It got ripped out because ive stuck a samco on with a K&n for some noise

Should i put the valve back on?

removing acoustic valve wont make your engine management light come on.

nor will putting a samco hose on.

The cone filter may have upset a sensor?
Get a code reader on it...

Removing the acoustic valve doesn't bring the warning light on, but it does show up with a sensor fault when you connect it up the the diagnostic clip as it's not there. nothing to worry abput though.

plug it in and read the fault, probably need to just reset it

Did you do both the acoustic valve AND the canister on the other side of the car ?

Puts my light on!

I unplugged the sensor too as its redundant without the valve and was thinking my car needed air, which was making it lean out!

I also found that a warning light came on when i unplugged the sensor.
i plugged it back in and removed the battery connection for ten minutes and that reset things back to normal

and did u plug up the pipe which runs back to the manifold ?

Yes and yes to franx

Carbon canister got plugged back in though once light came on ;)

The acoustic valve is attatched under the n/s arch liner with the horns for those not knowing what it looks like

lol it adds ~ 0.025 HP to your car (similar to skipping breakfast) and makes the induction noise more audible

if u dont bung up the little rubber pipe that leads back to the inlet manifold then it can put ur engine management light on ive taken mine off and bunged that pipe up and no problems at all

If you remove the acoustiv v/v then you need to block the pipe that goes to the inlet manifold. If you remove the carbon canister you will need to leave the solenoid plugged in to prevent a fault coming up (although I think there are other ways around this)
