removed back seats in cup..

  MKIII 138
managed to get them out weighed it all up 15.5kg`s !! in theory that should make my 1020kg cup 1005kgs lol
went out for a drive and feck me that has made it feel even quicker you can hear the exhaust fumes exit sound a bit like jet thrust.
must be close to 6secs to 60 now.

anyways im happy with it like that the only thing is i need some carpet to trim the back so its not all blue n stuff where can i get this stuff from so i can cut it myself etc..

thanks.

local small furniture manufacturer will sell it to you. might even fit it for not very much, or this just my brothers father in law???

drool...
the reason i need the back doing it that if you look at this pic:

there is a round black thing with wires coming out.. my missus has only let me get the back seats out so when we get a dog like she wants (a rottweiler of all things ! ) it will be able to fit in but knowing dogs and their tendancy to slide around + sharp claws i dont want the dog scratching the wires or that black hole so it has to be carpet.

there is the pit of doom to avoid though where the spare usually goes but i have thin ply wood and carpet covering that.

btw how mcuh weight over standard seats did you save ??

They only weigh 15.5kgs?

Mine felt heavier than that when I took them out...but having said that, with no split in it 15.5kgs does sound about right. The foam seat base must only weigh 2kgs or so LOL

stripping is the way forward! and why not? its free power pretty much! Not too good if its stripped bare and its your daily drive tho! I only use my clio once or twice a week tho so dont mind! :) The extra noise also gives the effect your going faster as its much louder!

240+bhp/ton

Just need to swap those pesky 20kg each leathers for 6kg buckets!!

How did you get them out of the Cup? I haven't had any joy yet (although only had the chance to try in the dark the last few nights!), seats are out but the back isn't budging and I can't find any bolts that are actually holding the damn thing in.
