Removing Airbag System and ABS

As those who've seen my car, you'll appreciate that there's limited use for the standard airbag system :)

So can anyone confirm if by removing the system the dash light will go?

Also is the wiring just contained within the interior or does it interact with the ecu and other components in the engine bay (ecu i could understand but nothing else) i've not really got time at the moment for a full strip down, so i'm just looking to remove the box of tricks and a few wires, at least the dashboard won't be in the way ;)

Cheers
Chris

I have a ph1 172, and removed the airbag system, but had to cut the wire going into the back of the instrument cluster so that the light went out.

Removing the ABS isn't the work of a moment though, as the system reverts to 50:50 split front to rear. I am in the process of removing the ABS pump and brain, all the original brake pipes and replacing with new lines so that the rear line goes through a bias valve to get a better front rear split of braking force. Burps project thread is great to learn all the pit falls and tips! :p
