removing backbox

Car  turbo 182
ive done a search and carnt find what im looking for, im going to be replacing 1 of the rear exhaust mounts and also the centre section mount as they are buggered i take it ill have to remove the back box and just wondering if its possible without having to cut it? its a motorfactor standard system been on the car about a year. cheers for any help

Not sure about the centre mount but changing the back-end mounts should be possible without touching the boxes, just make sure the boxes are supported before undoing the three bolts on each of the mountings, plenty of WD40 first. The mounting plates can also be removed if the mounts wont budge.

cheers for the replys yeah just done them both used a jack to push the exhaust up so i could then bolt the new centre mount up, once fitted and after i removed the jack the rubber on the mount sagged straight away and is a little twisted, will this be because the hanger on the mid section isnt correctly aligned up to the underside of the car?

The mounts tend to just sag tbh. what i've done and alot of others is use the original mounting bracket, remove the rubber from inside and replace with a aftermarket polybush mount and just cable tie it in place gives alot more support than oem rubber and stops them from sagging or you can just cable tie a old socket under the rubber to hold it up a bit.
