removing door locks

if you was getting a full car re spray would you ever think of removing the silver outside door locks and getting the hole filled n smotthed?

ive got my locks smoothed over....

basically, the best way to do it is to weld a plate on the underskin of the door, flush it and smooth it into the body of the door....thats the way i did it, and it minimalises the skinking...

i smoothed mine on my old clio as i prefer the smooth look.

if youre gonna respray it anyway then theres no reason not to.

you gonna do the boot pop too?

apparantly what people do is run 2 cables from the battery to the front of the bumper, then if the battery dies you can still put it on charge and get the doors unlocked

^^ thats actually a very good idea and one that id never think of.

But yeh get them smoothed off, saying that my immobiliser went a few weeks ago meaning the central locking was shagged and im glad i had my normal locks to actuallly get into the car.
