Removing engine cover...

Using the useless tool that Renault provided, I can get the front 2 screws out, but not the back two...

Do people manage with the Renault-provided tool or have they got separate 'screw' drivers to do the job?

Also, the fuel rail guard, how's that come off? :S

I heard some people take it off when the car is warm as it's a lot easier that way?

Just use Torx T30 bit I think, what I use

As per fuelrail cover need a mini ratchet and socket, 10mm I think, and place it in 2 of the 3 holes on the front, under and pull off.

Got my old man bringing his Torx set in so will have a go with them, it just seems that the Renault provided piece doesn't sit far enough into the hole of the screw to get leverage.

As for the guard, as I thought so will investigate...

after all the work ive done on my car ive come to the conclusion that its held together with 10mm bolts and torx screws lol

Nah, not as far as weight reduction's concerned, but I've got a new polished fuel rail guard to fit, so need to remove the cover in order to do this.

I may then set about polishing certain parts of the manifold up as well... and maybe spraying the engine cover...

yea use torex bits
Engine hot then tap them in place.. my rear two were tight as you like
