removing/& fitting a 182/172 gear knob

as title has anyone removed a 172/182 gearknob, if so how hard was it and how did you do it ?, also how do you fit a new one ?, does it just push in or are they glued

Its hard.....

You normally have to drill then use mole grips to twist them off.

they use glue. very strong glue.

pop the cap of with a screwdriver, get a drill and drill down to the centre and around the centre, they are glued on so yo have to crack the glue and all you have to do is pull ya nob off!!!

what about putting a new one on, also can you just swap the silver bit in the middle (i have a new knob, but can you get the silver bit of without damage)
