removing rear renault badge? Russ??

i know russ has done this and was wondering how and how much is costs. since im wanting to smooth the tailgate i was wondering what was used to fill the indent and hole where the rear renault badge and boot button and filling the small holes behind the clio badge. also would i have to respray the whole tailgate or can i just spray over where they are filled and smoothed.

its only the clio badge that is held in by pins

yeh but the renault badge and the made lumpy bit that is mounted on is gonna leave a huge hole where the boot button is so how is tht filled.

All holes should be welded.

get a campus bootlid or basitly cut out the badge bit reweld a shapped bit of metal in its place so that its smooth, filler over that n paint

yep defo you guna lose the numberplate resess aswell?

id find a spare bootlid from a scrappy(as its going to be sprayed anyway) to do this so that if it goes wrong you still have the original one.

mine was done by a pro bodyshop, they used filler and welded behind the holes left. Not sure on exact price as it was part of a few jobs they did for me.

Id say £250 for a decent job with the lock and badges.

The later Campus model has a flushed boot already, if you want to lose the plate recess as well you could look at soucing one of those to save on the filler.

does the campus not have a mad groove thing along it tho, i might look into it. much was it for the solinoid thingy to pop it

Isnt the campus a different shape?
I want to remove the recess..love the red clio in this months PFC mag.
