removing rust

  Ph1.2 / VW Polo
got some bad rust on the bottom of my door.
wanna know a DIY way of getting rid.
im thinking can you sand it down flat, primer and paint it?

im not after perfection or permanant removal (the next owner can worry about that)
just want it to be alot less noticable

its bad :( it goes all the way across the bottom of the door

  Transit Connect.
Thats what I would do, Sand, primer, paint, laquer. Just do the area which is rusted and it'll look ten times better.

That's why it would be easier to get a replacement door or take it to a bodyshop, they won't charge that much for it surely.

yeah it comes back much quicker than you'd think
only real way of removing rust is cut it out

Slap some of that anit rust treatment on there as well, i have used it before and it worked well...
The rust i would imagine would come back but if your not too fussed about just dee it again in the future...

weather dryed up today so got painting, and the paint match is shocking :(

where it meets the orignal colour the new paint is a much lighter shade.
will it darken as it drys?
dont think white primer helped tbh but still.

pissed off man
how much am i looking at for a body shop to spray a little bit?

DIY ambition ftl!

well actully it wasnt really my fault, the t**t who mixed the paint has foked it up.

If you're wanting the colour match bang on, you're gonna have to paint the full side of the car. It's not the guy who mixed it's fault, fresh paint next to old paint in that type of colour will never match unless blended in properly.
